Our Mission
SCCHC’s mission is to preserve, revitalize, develop, and sustain affordable housing in Solano County and northern California.

In 2018 SCCHC purchased a single-family 4 bed/2 bath home in Fairfield. SCCHC transformed the home to create two units with the concept of an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in mind. The home now consists of one 2-bedroom 1 bath unit and one 1 bedroom 1 bath unit and became the first model for “Addie Homes”. Addie Homes is a division of SCCHC with the goal of increasing the supply of affordable housing in Solano County and surrounding communities through:
(1) the acquisition and preservation of 1-4 unit homes as affordable rental properties, and
(2) the addition of attached and detached dwelling units (ADU) to existing homes, one unit at a time.
More information on Addie Homes can be found at www.addiehomes.org.
SCCHC’s affiliation with other Solano County organizations
Solano Affordable Housing Foundation - Solano Affordable Housing Foundation (SAHF), a non-profit corporation, was created in 1990 by a coalition of business, social, and political leaders throughout Solano County concerned about the escalating cost of housing in Solano County. Since its inception, SAHF has developed more than 900 affordable housing units for Solano County families. SAHF acquires land or older buildings, hires architects and engineers to design affordable communities, complies with local zoning ordinance and building codes, negotiates construction contracts, obtains debt and equity financing, and employs experienced property management firms to provide ongoing management of its communities.
SCCHC is a strategic affiliate of SAHF and contributes most of its surplus revenues to SAHF to further their mission of providing affordable housing. In addition, the SAHF staff serves as the staff of SCCHC under an administrative services agreement.

The Leaven – The Leaven’s mission is to revitalize communities through early education intervention. The Leaven learning centers are situated in apartment complexes where students and their families live. The Leaven works to eliminate crime in neighborhoods by providing year-round tutoring and mentoring, as well as a safe place where parents know their children are protected and well cared for. The Leaven operates a learning center for Village II Apartments in the office building owned by SCCHC and operates a learning center at Burgess Point apartments where SCCHC is a limited partner of the ownership entity.
